Happy Mother's Day!

A warm Mother's Day wish to my Mom and to my kids' Mom, and all the Moms out there - Hope your day is great!

Not particularly related, this song played in my head just before I woke up this morning:

"She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceptive , and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."

- Proverbs 31:26-31

Vintage SBJ

In a long ago but not so far away galaxy, musicians made music with simple instruments, even without auto-tune, sound sampling, pyrotechnics and fancy choreography.

Here is one of them (I would've been about 9 when this was taped.):

A few of my favorite things

Dew can have all the rainbows with roses and mittens on kittens he wants.

If you're gonna play in Texas

Ya gotta have a fiddle in the band.

If you're gonna drive to Houston...

You better have a longer extension cord.

There's probably a re-charging station between Corsicana and Fairfield, huh?

On second thought, Lake Worth's nice this time of year...

Live Crawfish!

They're crunchy.  And they tickle your tongue.

Indoor Restrooms!

Even if they're not as much fun, they sure beat getting a ticket for peeing on the sidewalk...

If Livingston traded his cowboy boots for wooden shoes...

OK, this guy ain't no "Dutch" Reagan, but he is apparently from the continent side of the Channel.

(I couldn't find a gen-u-wine P&B version with decent audio fidelity...)
