Live Bullet

IIRC, the AOR DJs of the '70s utilized this pairing if they needed to visit the loo...

A brilliant segue, and one of my favorite Seger performances.

Another pairing I remember - but I have trouble verifying this - was Ronstadt's cover of Phil Everly's When Will I Be Loved, followed directly by Willin' (Lowell George/Little Feat cover).

Git along...

To this day, Linda's album named for this song remains my favorite.  While I didn't initially like this version as well as hers, I now value them equally.

The album was produced by Jackson Bowne, featuring Don & Glenn, Lindsey & Stevie, Waddy, Phil Everly, wünderkind multi-instrumentalist David Lindley and Rosemary Butler, Bonnie Raitt, Carl Wilson, and several stellar session players - a who's who of the L.A. scene in the '70s.

Between the groovy 59th and 110th

I feel a bit like a plagiaristic schlub posting the same song as another, venerable, blogifier, but this is a version I really dig.

Check out the platter on that turntable! Gotta be super-low wow & flutter.

About last night...

This always makes a good sing-a-long at the pub...

Are they on the set for 'Houses of the Holy'?

Please allow me to...

 Well, you know.

You gotta admit Ksenia is better looking than Mr. Cetera.

A slight case of Flutulence

Look out for breaking [wood] winds...

Listen to your Mama...

While I was certainly acquainted with the composer's version of this song, even back in the '70s, I always preferred this one. This is the non-airplay version with the otherworldly, trippy extended bridge.

Old chums

Continuing the theme of mid-20th century musicians re-creating the magic in the 21st, I herewith present this duo. Two voices and a guitar.

Really a gem once you get past the vapid banality of the morning gabfest 'personalities'.

Was it now?

This guy was once a backing guitarist for rock & roll pioneer Don Everly's band.  The song maybe evokes some of the feel of that era.

In a motel in Fort Worth...

This song was inspired...

Not my favorite take, but there's sure some solid gold talent backing W&W on that stage.

In the game

My mind works in strange ways.  Tommy Boy has a post showing a sheep stuck in a tire swing. Somehow, I jumbled the messages and images from this old commercial with his .gif.
