I really wanted to watch this video, but I had to fix my hair, I had a tanning appointment, plus I had to leave a anonymous snarky comment on Barry's blog, so I put it on my to do list. Thanks for posting, I'm sure I'll get around to it.

Being me takes all my time.

Amigo- The Eagles may top the list of bands that I know that not only I should like them (but don't) I try to like- but can't.

Lol. Liking the Eagles is totally non-compulsory. There are plenty of different tastes out there.

I have a colleague at work who is generally knowledgeable about music and likes stuff like Flock of Seagulls, Tears for Fears and several other outfits that for the life of me I can't understand. We do agree on a few artists. But, to each his own.

Despite the many appearances of the band on this blog, there are some of their popular songs I'd not be too disturbed if I never heared them again: Peaceful Easy Feeling, Best of My Love, Tequila Sunrise, Lyin' Eyes, most of The Long Run album. I can't tell you why.

Desperado and Hotel California albums I can enjoy tracking entirely. On the Border and One of These Nights, I pick and choose cuts. Long Road Out of Eden is I think a good album, but about a third is filler. With all due respect to Mr. Frey, I much tend to favor the Henley songs.

Back to your point - when Prince died, there was of course much outpouring of affection and accolades for his music. I have a copy of Purple Rain from the '80s (and like the title song), but otherwise never developed a particular taste for his music, though clearly many did.
