A dark night of the collective soul

It occurred to me some time back that In the Garden of Allah, Henley's take on Lucifer visiting a major west coast city (Los Angeles, but could be almost any of them), and finding his work had all been done, was similar thematically to Mr. Aurandt's famous broadcast. Unfortunately, the video of it is blocked on YouTube.

Miss Ghost is also missing from Henley's Youtube catalogue.

My middle son on more than one occasion has asked me my interpretation of Miss Ghost. My response has been that, in typical Henley fashion, it's intentionally open to debate and in places vague. Miss Ghost could literally be an old flame, or metaphorically an old habit or addiction. The line "Here's to seeing through you...Miss Ghost", is, IMO, a particularly delicious denouement.
