Was it now?

This guy was once a backing guitarist for rock & roll pioneer Don Everly's band.  The song maybe evokes some of the feel of that era.

You think they used an autotuner to raise his voice? He's got a cartoon voice in this tune. Also, that's an odd guitar he plays. Fender came out with the Acoustatronic styled for his type of playing. Wish I had one to play!

Guitar is a Rick Turner. Turner was previously a principal at Alembic.

I'm not sure what the state of development was for auto-tune in 1981.

I searched for the #1 song of all 1981 and came up with several!? Bette Davis Eyes - Kim Carnes, Starting Over - John Lennon, Hall & Oates - Your Kiss is on My List.
