I couldn't agree more. It's not only a senseless program paid for by taxpayers, but there's something wicked about purposely seizing the engine of a perfectly good automobile that still had life left in it...
I thought the whole point was to clean up the environment by getting polluting vehicles off the road. Now they are running dishwashing liquid through the motor, hauling it off to a wrecking yard for the sludge to seep into the ground? I'll wager that at least half of these cars could have been saved by a decent backyard mechanic with a couple hundred dollars and would run cleaner than some that are only a year old. Obama is smoking crack!
